Philosophy
It is especially designed by the foreign educated members of our team to meet the requirements of our
children to cope with the rapidly modernizing world. The prevailing English medium education system
is leading our children's minds to western ideology where as at Bloomfield, English is taught only as a
language, not as a culture. The effective learning system of this institution is adjusted in the light of
Islam to help the children in getting prepared to lead a successful life in today's modernizing world.
Mission
Bloomfield Education System, a blend of modern skills and Islamic values, is to set, if Allah wills,
new standards for the future requirements of our literate new generation of the world.
Education System
The System is especially designed, after an assiduous study of a variety of existing elementary
school systems in Pakistan and other countries. To meet the specific requirements of Pakistani
students, alterations are made to suit the students for whom English is a second language, thus
eliminating the need of useless memorizing (parroting) the entire text without any understanding.
Temporary memorizing of answers to questions may lead to an apparent success in examinations
but in fact, it weakens the progressive and creative ability, the most important faculty of a human
mind. As a result, this system is especially friendly to students who dislike the unnecessary
burden of memorizing and tedious work. Our research and development process to design a
successful elementary education system has indicated a need for the development of effective
basic skills in our students rather than providing them with a burden of merely fancy informative
materials. Simplicity is maintained throughout the curriculum to keep it more effective and
powerful. No doubt, simple is powerful..
Course of Study
The course of study is specially designed to improve the learning of a child in a more effective
manner by splitting the traditional 1 year term into two semesters, each containing a multiple set
of tests covering the entire syllabus in an organized manner that is more convenient for the
learner.
Educational Trips
A recreation or an educational trip is organized in each semester to provide the children with some
healthy entertainment and education out side the school's premises. Children are taken to
different amusement parks, restaurants, factories and picnics in these trips.
Swimming Classes
There is a small swimming pool located at the back of the school building. Children who wish to
learn professional style swimming are provided with the opportunity to do so without paying any
extra cost. Swimming classes are held during the summer only.
Semester Schedule
One year academic term is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins in August and
ends in December. The final exams for the first semester are held in December. There are three
to four class tests during a semester. The final exam covers the entire syllabus covered in one
semester. The progress reports are given at the end of each semester and it indicates the
grades obtained in the final tests only.
Staff Selection
Teachers are prudently selected on the basis of competence rather than on mere college degrees.
College degree is considered important but being merely a college graduate does not guarantee a
job at Bloomfield. In order to qualify as a teacher at Bloomfield, the candidates go through an
interview, a skill test and a training period. The candidates must show teaching aptitude and must
prove competence in the field of teaching during their training period.
Environment
A healthy character-building environment is maintained in the school to raise civilized citizens of
the future. Perseverance, tolerance, truthfulness and above all, politeness is promoted and
appreciated where as hatred, selfishness and prejudices are strongly discouraged. Lying,
cheating, stealing and using abusive language are viewed as a crime. As physical abuse of
children by the staff is strictly prohibited, parents' help is acquired to rehabilitate children who are
found guilty of such forbidden activities. Even the parents of our students are expected to
communicate with our staff in a civilized manner. Only written complaints and suggestions are
entertained at the school.
Basic Skills
Our research has provided us with a substantial amount of evidence pointing to weak basic skills
among the Pakistani educated individuals, therefore our curriculum focuses on improving the most
elementary abilities such as effective reading and writing skills in both English and Urdu
languages, mathematical skills required in solving everyday life problems, civic sense required for
leading a civilized life and the ability to tell the right from wrong among the moral values in the light
of Islam.
To make sure that the students acquire all the basic skills in languages, separate tests for reading,
spellings and composition are given to students. Especially, reading and spelling skills are not
ignored and are in fact considered important subjects.
Mother-Teacher Meetings
To keep an effective communication between the teachers and the children's mothers, at least
one mother-teacher meeting is organized during each semester. In these meetings, teachers
and mothers exchange their views pertaining to child's progress and make joint plans to improve
children's learning process.
